It’s time for another episode of The Weekly Stuff Podcast with Jonathan Lack & Sean Chapman, a weekly audio show that explores the worlds of film, television, and video games. You can subscribe for free in Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
‘4’ is our lucky number this week as we have the pleasure of not only reviewing the outstanding action masterpiece that is John Wick: Chapter 4, but also giving first impressions on Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake, which is, through what we’ve played so far, an incredible experience that’s much better than either of us expected when this project was announced. We give spoiler-free thoughts on the opening hours of the game before diving into this week’s main event, which is our overwhelming love for the latest (and possibly final) chapter in the John Wick saga. As great as these films have consistently been, Chapter 4 takes the saga to bold new heights, expanding the series’ storytelling to epic proportions and pulling off incredible feats of practical action insanity that boggle the mind. It’s an all-timer, and it deserves all the (spoiler-filled!) attention we can give it (spoilers don’t start until the 32-minute mark).
Enjoy!
