The Weekly Stuff Podcast #182: What are the best video games? Plus more Zelda talk, Specter Knight, Movie News, and more!
It’s time for another episode of The Weekly Stuff Podcast with Jonathan Lack & Sean Chapman, a weekly audio show that explores the worlds of film, television, and video games. You can subscribe for free in iTunes by following this link.
After a week off, we’re back with an extra-long episode clearing the deck before Persona 5 launches around the world this week – and commences to overwhelm our podcast in the weeks to come. Jonathan and Sean both chat about what they’ve been up to lately, Jonathan shares more thoughts on the Nintendo Switch – including games like Snake Pass, the Splatoon 2 testfire, and Shovel Knight and its latest expansion, Specter Knight – and we talk recent movie news like superhero trailers and Joss Whedon apparently making a Batgirl movie. Then we have three main topics for you this week – first, there’s more spoiler-chat with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and second, we ask the important question, “What are the best video games ever made?” and force ourselves to each pick 5 that represent our critical tastes in gaming. And finally, we spend a few minutes talking about our hopes and dreams for the Persona 5 launch, with Sean – who played the game in Japanese last year – giving a few spoiler-free pointers to those about to enjoy the game. As he says – appreciate the bass.
