The Weekly Stuff Podcast #325 - Next-Gen Console Production, Yakuza, Vanquish, and a game about Quibi
It’s time for another episode of The Weekly Stuff Podcast with Jonathan Lack & Sean Chapman, a weekly audio show that explores the worlds of film, television, and video games. You can subscribe for free in iTunes by following this link.
It was a light week in video game news, though a report about improved working conditions at Rockstar Games and some insight into Sony’s production strategy for the PS5 gives us a chance to talk about how games are made and what the future is looking like with next-gen consoles. We also talk about the games we’ve been playing during the shut-in, with Sean returning to Kamurocho for Yakuza 5 and Jonathan discovering the awfulness that is Resident Evil 5 and the awesomeness that is Platinum Games’ recently re-released Vanquish. And finally, just for laughs, we make fun of the very stupid, very not-successful streaming service Quibi with a game pitting the real, incredibly silly shows on the service versus fake, equally silly shows that aren’t.
Enjoy!
